Wrapping Semester One
By Dai'Ja Harrell
As my class journey comes to an end, it's essential to take a moment to reflect on the challenges we faced together. While it's natural for any learning environment to have its share of obstacles, what sets me apart is how I tackled these challenges head-on and grew as an individual and as a cohesive team player. In this blog post, we'll explore the hurdles we encountered and the valuable lessons I've learned along the way.
Group collaborations, though designed to foster teamwork and cooperation, often became a source of frustration at times. Differences in work ethics, communication styles, and conflicting schedules led to occasional tensions. However, these challenges taught me the significance of effective communication, compromise, and patience, all of which are invaluable skills for my future endeavors. As it pertains to assignments and subjects provided in both 5303 and 5305 at times proved particularly difficult, having me grappling to grasp complex concepts. These moments tested my determination and pushed me to seek extra support from classmates, and external resources.
The idea of an E-portfolio was something new as well. First off trying to figure out what platform to use. Starting off with google sites then ultimately switching over to WIX , I started to find my way around this platform much better. It seemed pretty over whelming when looking through each module ahead of time. After understanding COVA and why we should use an E-portfolio , I believe that it is a great tool for reflection and looking back on your learning and connecting bigger dots. Over time, I learned the value of perseverance, resilience, and the satisfaction of overcoming intellectual hurdles.
My class journey was not without its challenges, but I emerged stronger, wiser, and more united than ever before. The hurdles I've faced taught me crucial life skills that extend beyond academics. By embracing diversity, managing my time effectively, learning to collaborate, and adapting to technological changes, I honed in on my ability to face future challenges with confidence. Understanding the growth mindset and how I continued to preserver and move forward with this program , I reflect on areas where I struggled the most and have hope that when I am finally done with the program it was all for my betterment as a student and educator.
As I move forward, I'll remember that challenges are not obstacles to fear but opportunities for growth. Let this class be a reminder that our greatest accomplishments often arise from the difficulties we overcome together. Let's celebrate this journey, cherish the memories we create, and continue to support and uplift each other in all our future endeavors.
