Its all in your Mindset

Have you ever experienced something so difficult and the outcome on your success was depending on you giving up or trying again ? That is the difference between you having a fixed mindset or a growth mindset. The evolution of your success is all in the way that you see things. If you attempt to do something and its not coming out how you planned or predicted , you have the ability to decide how you will continue with this particular experience. Going from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset is one way to turn your out come from a negative to a positive.


A fixed mindset is having it made up in your mind that basically "it is what it is". You tend to think that nothing will change especially nothing good. Having a fixed mindset is more so focused on the negatives of feedback by peers and self reflection. Allowing those thoughts to settle creates a block in your progression as an individual. These people tend to shy away from effort and lack resilience when dealing with challenges and obstacles. But their is a main key in changing this from fixed to growth mindset. The key is "yet".


The word yet may be small but powerful when it comes to the way having a growth mindset. After Watching The Power of Belief - Mindset and Success. (2012). YouTube. and Developing a Growth Mindset. (2014). YouTube., It was easier to understand this transition and how it can change the whole outcome of the situation. By adding the word "yet" to a statement, such as "I haven't learned how to play the piano yet," it shifts the focus from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset. It implies that although the goal hasn't been reached or the skill hasn't been acquired, there is still room for progress and development. By adopting the power of yet, individuals can maintain motivation and a sense of possibility, even in the face of temporary failures or difficulties.


Cultivating a growth mindset, which embraces the belief that abilities and qualities can be developed through dedication, effort, and learning, is beneficial for personal and professional growth. When adopting a growth mindset individuals approach life with a positive and proactive attitude. It empowers them to embrace challenges, persist through difficulties, and continually strive for improvement and success. By fostering a growth mindset, individuals can unlock their full potential and lead more fulfilling and successful lives.
