Contribution to Your Learning and the Learning Community 5318 & 5320

Updated: May 3

As my ADL journey comes to an end, I am more reassured in my decision to pursue this path. Each course has exposed me to diverse methods of learning and influencing learners, as well as aspects I hadn't realized were missing in my role previously. Each course has contributed to my personal growth by enhancing my daily functions and equipping me with skills for future endeavors. These two courses, in particular, Instructional Design and Synthesis Digital Learning , complement each other seamlessly, offering a comprehensive learning experience and an overall overview of a course.

Reflecting on the past weeks, I made a conscious effort to absorb and apply the feedback provided, not only to enhance my work but also to deepen my understanding of the material. Throughout both courses, the assigned readings, videos, and recommended articles played a pivotal role in grasping and interacting with the content effectively. Overall, I approached each aspect of the courses with diligence and commitment, striving to maximize my learning experience and academic growth.

5318: In 5318 my assignments were:

  • Cova Reflection Application

  • Innovation Plan Update

  • Applied Digital Learning Journey Synthesis

5320: In 5320 my assignments were :

  • Instructional Design

  • Implementation

  • Usability & Reflection

In my ED5318 course, "Instructional Design Online Learning," we embarked on a journey characterized by immersive project-based tasks and practical application. Beginning with crafting a comprehensive course design, we transitioned to developing an introductory video outlining the course's objectives and methodology. This video provided an overview of the target audience and highlighted select modules as we moved into the implementation phase. Culminating the course, stakeholders engaged in a thorough review of the developed course, offering valuable feedback and insights. Each component played a pivotal role in shaping the course's trajectory and ensuring its effectiveness. As we reflect on this transformative experience, it becomes evident that this program has pushed me beyond my comfort zone, equipping me with the tools and perspectives needed to influence learners positively in the future.

This session, I evaluated my performance in 5320 by comparing my contributions to previous weeks. I dedicated time to sharing insights and exchanging notes with classmates, providing constructive feedback on their work, and actively engaging in reflective discussions on all discussion boards. I perceive growth in my participation on public forums, striving to increase my engagement .

Key Contributions

  • Created a google doc Collab sheet to sort out our work of group members and provided feedback to collaborative group members.

  • Engaged in collaborative learning through active participation in the Blackboard weekly discussion boards for both the 5318 and 5320 courses, which helped facilitate a deeper understanding of the course material and allowed me to glean insights from diverse perspectives shared by my classmates.

  • Adhered to all deadlines outlined in the course calendars for both 5320 and 5318.

  • Regularly monitored grades and emails, promptly responding to messages.

  • Upon receiving feedback on assignments from both the 5318 and 5320 courses, I engaged in reflection and implemented suggested corrections.

Supporting Contributions

  • Collaborated in a shared leadership capacity within our core group alongside Chloe Vallot , Shirelle Barnes and Kenyana Blount.

  • Reviewed and offered constructive feedback for links shared in Collaborative Google Doc.

  • Responded to peer Usability and Reflection Form's for 5318.

Despite this being my final semester in the ADL program, I intend to persist in utilizing my E Portfolio as a tool for ongoing reflection on my learning journey. It has proven invaluable in recognizing both my acquired knowledge and areas where further growth is needed. After actively engaging in the collaboration group and discussion forums, I believe I merit a grade of 95/100 for both the EDLD 5318 and EDLD 5320 classes.
