Learning Network

Continuous learning is essential for self-improvement and cannot be achieved in isolation. Personally, I possess a variety of resources that enable me to stay current, well-informed, and consistently stimulate my intellectual growth. This week, I've sensed the start of a significant transformation in my learning journey. My Learning Manifesto has motivated me to delve into a subject I've long desired to explore but hadn't previously made time for. My main contribution revolves around my immediate Leadership Team at Kahla Middle School.

We diligently review our goals and maintain constant communication within the team. We have discussed starting an actual Learning network to connect with other campuses in our district to discuss and converse on what works for our students and see how we can help each of them build on their the learning based on the level they are at. I have been looking into other learning networks outside of my campus community such as TED and HLN .

TED is a nonprofit organization committed to disseminating ideas, typically through concise and impactful presentations, which are usually 18 minutes or shorter in duration. TED originated in 1984 as a conference that brought together Technology, Entertainment, and Design, but it has since expanded its scope to encompass a wide range of subjects, spanning from science and business to global matters, with content available in over 100 languages. Additionally, independently organized TEDx events serve as a means to share ideas within communities worldwide. HLN is an organization assist educators in the Houston area in gaining access to resources that enhance their teaching and classroom transformation. They also help facilitate connections between teachers and innovative professional development prospects while promoting collaboration among educators in various settings, including schools, museums, libraries, and more. I can't wait to see how these Learning Communities impact my teaching style and make new connections with other educators.
